Boléro. Hommage à Maurice Béjart

Lausanne jardins 2019 - Terre à Terre

Location Lausanne Switzwerland

Year 2019

Description On the stage of the open-air theatre the project is inspired by Boléro, the famous choreography by Maurice Bejart, focusing on what for us is the most interesting aspect: the aggressive nature of the space.

The circular ballet platform here is "deconstructed" into parallel strips so that it can be crossed by a mass of imposing grasses according to a centripetal "crescendo". At the centre of the space a slender branch and a "gold leaf" represent the solo dancer in their role as “spark”: an irresistible and obsessive attraction.
